Audit Requirement

What?

Privately owned ECE services are required to submit an Annual Financial Declaration by 30 June each year. Attached to the Financial Declaration is the Special Purpose Financial Report and Audit Report.

Ministry of Education's ECE Funding Handbook Chapter 12 details the specific requirements for financial reporting by ECE centres.

How?

Who?

The audit must be undertaken by a Chartered Accountant (a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and N.Z.) who is independent of the person that prepared the Financial Statements.
